Rabat - Chad’s Foreign Minister and official Spokesperson Abderaman Koulamallah emphasized on Wednesday his country’s intent to benefit from Morocco’s expertise, particularly in agriculture and new technologies.
Chad’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, African Integration, Chadians Abroad, and International Cooperation Koulamallah spoke during a joint press conference with Morocco’s Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.
Koulamallah underscored the significant impact of Moroccan aid on Chadian communities, highlighting the ongoing training of Chadian professionals in Morocco. "Our populations benefit greatly from Moroccan aid," Koulamallah stated, noting the deep, longstanding ties between Chad and Morocco, anchored by their shared use of the Arabic language.
Koulamallah also reaffirmed Chad's support for Morocco's territorial integrity, underscored by the recent opening of a Chadian Consulate General in Dakhla. He described this move as a reflection of Chad’s unwavering stance on Morocco’s sovereignty, including over the Sahara region.
“In addition to our political solidarity with Morocco’s territorial integrity, our presence in Dakhla also aims to strengthen economic ties,” Koulamallah explained, signaling Chad's intention to reactivate the Joint Commission between the two nations and elevate their bilateral relations across all sectors.
The Chadian minister further acknowledged Morocco’s consistent support for Chad during challenging times, particularly at the African Union’s Peace and Security Council. He credited Morocco’s backing with the successful political transition in Chad, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation between the two countries.
