Actualités Maroc
Rabat - Morocco has expressed its gratitude to Serbia for its positive stance on Moroccan territorial integrity.

Rachid Talbi Alami, Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives, conveyed Morocco’s gratitude during a meeting on Wednesday with the President of the National Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabic in Rabat.

During the meeting, Alami emphasized that Morocco’s Autonomy proposal for the Western Sahara region has been recognized as a viable solution to the long-standing dispute.

He further noted that Serbia’s stance contributes to the broad international support that Morocco has received in recent months in recognition of its sovereignty over its southern provinces in Western Sahara.

Alami also emphasized the importance of bilateral ties between the two countries, highlighting Morocco’s major projects seeking to promote development and regional integration in Africa.

Brnabic, who is leading a significant parliamentary delegation during her visit to Morocco, said this trip reflects the “longstanding and strong friendship between Serbia and Morocco.”

She also conveyed her country’s gratitude to Morocco for supporting Serbia’s territorial integrity, expressing hope that her visit would contribute to boosting economic cooperation.

The Serbian official extended an official invitation to Talbi Alami to conduct a working visit to Serbia, arguing that this opportunity will serve as a platform to discuss boosting bilateral parliamentary relations.

Serbia has frequently reiterated support for Morocco's political efforts to achieve a realistic, pragmatic, and lasting political solution to the Sahara dispute.

In 2021, the two countries signed three bilateral agreements on diplomatic, military, and cultural cooperation.
