Rabat - Footage and pictures have emerged of Moroccan youngster Amir Richardson holding FIorentina flags, with converging reports confirming that the Italian club has officialized the signing of the Atlas Lion.
Fiorentina notably shared photos of the Moroccan player holding a fan scarf featuring the Italian club’s logo and symbols.
“Amir is in Florence,’ the club wrote in a caption on Instagram.
Sky News reported today that Richardson signed with Fiorentina from Reims for €9 million, with an additional €1 million potentially added to the transfer fee.
Earlier this month, several reports linked the youngster to the Italian club. According to the reports, Fiorentina’s interest in Richardson grew as they followed the Atlas Lion’s spectacular appearances with Morocco’s Olympic team during the just concluded Summer Olympics in Paris.
During the competition, Morocco became the first Arab country to clinch a bronze medal after finishing third.
Morocco lost to Spain 2-1 in the semi-finals but bounced back with a thrilling and dominant 6-0 thrashing of Egypt in the bronze medal match.
