Rabat - Frustration looms as reports and speculation suggest that Hassan Kaabia will be appointed as the president of the Israeli liaison office in Rabat.
Converging reports said that Israel is working to replace David Govrin, a controversial Israeli representative who has faced backlash due to his involvement in a sexual harassment case.
Many are expressing concerns over this potential replacement of Kaabia, who previously sparked outrage when he referred to protesters opposing Moroccans who support the Palestinian cause as “not human.”
“Anyone who sympathizes with the terrorist Hamas movement is not human and has no connection to humanity,” he said, afterIsrael launched its devastating war on Gaza in October last year.
Many took to social networks to condemn the alleged move.
One X user said: “Former Israeli soldier Hassan Kaabia has been appointed as the new director of the Israeli Liaison Office in Morocco, succeeding David Govrin, the rapist of Moroccan female employees.”
Another one said: “I hope your presence on earth ends before you set foot on Morocco’s sacred land. May God humiliate you.”
Despite confirming his involvement in sexual misconduct, Israel’s Foreign Affairs Ministry allowed Govrin to return to his post in Rabat in April.
The ministry claimed it allowed his return due to “the prolonged process regarding his case,” Israeli media reported in April, adding however that the Director General at the ministry may have already decided on a series of disciplinary actions against Govrin.
Many also stressed Kaabia’s links to the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF), who have been murdering tens of thousands of Palestinians, including children amid the ongoing merciless campaign launched since October 7.
In the past 24 hours, Israeli occupation forces committed several massacres against civilians in Gaza over the past 24 hours.
More than 33 Palestinians have been killed while 118 others were injured. The death toll in Gaza has surged to 39,583, with the tally being expected to be more than 180,000 as tens of thousands of bodies remain missing under the rubbles.
