Rabat– The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) announced today that the UK’s largest tour operator, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, has launched an expanded flight and holiday program to Morocco.
The first flights under this initiative departed from the UK to Morocco, marking a significant step in boosting tourism between the two countries, the office said in a statement.
This expansion is part of Morocco’s broader “Light in Action” strategy, which aims to enhance the country’s aerial connectivity with key global markets, making it easier for international tourists to visit.
ONMT officials believe this improved accessibility will increase Morocco’s appeal to UK travelers and further boost tourism growth.
The launch included flights to Agadir, one of Morocco’s most popular coastal destinations, from four major UK airports: Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, London Stansted, and Manchester. Additional services to Agadir are set to begin from Bristol on Sunday, October 6, and from Glasgow on Sunday, November 3.
Starting tomorrow, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will expand their offerings to include flights and holiday packages to Marrakech. These routes will initially operate from Birmingham, Manchester, and London Stansted, with Glasgow services launching on Monday, November 4.
The new routes provide year-round access to Morocco from six UK airports, offering greater flexibility and options for travelers. Bookings are now open for the Winter 2024/25, Summer 2025, and Winter 2025/26 seasons.
Looking ahead, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays plan to expand their operations to eight UK airports by Summer 2026. This includes new weekly flights to Agadir from East Midlands and Newcastle airports, further increasing travel options for holidaymakers.
In a statement, Jet2.com highlighted Morocco as a prime destination for UK tourists, offering an ideal escape from the UK's often gloomy weather. “This new program of flights and holidays to Morocco has been launched in response to demand from customers and independent travel agents who are seeking new cultural destinations as well as guaranteed sunshine,” reads the announcement.
