Rabat- Morocco’s Ministry of Transport and Logistics has announced the launch of two major programs aimed at improving the road transport sector in the North African country.
These two projects are part of the Safe Buses Program, the ministry explained. It added that their aim is to renew public transport vehicles and improve road infrastructure for rural public transport, freight transport and carpooling.
The programs will be rolled out in 2024 through the electronic platform “tajdid-hadira.narsa.gov.ma” in two stages, the National Road Safety Agency (NARS) also said in a statement.
The first phase will begin on Monday, July 22. Registration will notably open for companies wishing to benefit from these programs, while companies without a valid account on the platform will need to register to participate.
The start of the second phase will be Monday, July 29, during which time the platform will be open for applications. Interested parties must submit their applications through the same electronic platform.
Professionals wishing to benefit from these programs can view the joint curricula and approved procedures for downloading the necessary documentation starting on July 22 on the website “tajdid-hadira.narsa.gov.ma.”
The “Safe Bus” program is designed to enhance the safety and efficiency of public transportation services by ensuring that public transit vehicles are well maintained and up to date. This initiative aims to reduce the risk of accidents and improve the overall travel experience for passengers.
