BAM: One in Four Moroccan Businesses Uncertain About Future Industrial Trends

Rabat — Morocco’s industrial production stagnated in February 2025 while sales increased, according to the latest monthly industrial survey from Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).

The Capacity Utilization Rate (CUR) held steady at 78%, BAM reports.

The report indicated that production increased in the food processing and mechanical and metallurgical sectors, remained flat in textile and leather, and declined in chemical and parachemical industries.

Meanwhile, sales grew across all sectors except regaarding textile and leather, which saw a decrease. Looking at markets, foreign sales increased while domestic sales remained unchanged.

New orders rose in the food processing, chemical and parachemical, and mechanical and metallurgical sectors, but fell in textile and leather.
Order books remained above normal levels across all sectors except textile and leather, where they fell below the typical threshold.

Looking ahead to the next three months, manufacturers generally expect production to increase. However, one in four businesses expressed uncertainty about future trends.

By sector, growth is anticipated in chemical and parachemical industries as well as mechanical and metallurgical sectors, while production in food processing and textile and leather is expected to remain stable.

Sales are forecast to increase across all industries except textile and leather, where a decline is expected.
